About Perryville Pet Hospital

Liz graduated from Rockford Career College in 2016 as a Certified Veterinary Technician and joined PPH right out of school! She is a life resident of Machesney Park and enjoys being close to her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family at the lake, reading, and spoiling her pit bull, Bella. Liz has worked out at Lockwood Park for several years and loves to give riding lessons. She has been riding for over 15 years and loves to ride Western for fun.

Alyssa started as an intern with our hospital and joined our team full-time after graduating as a CVT from Rockford Career College in 2019! She is a Winnebago native and loves reading, arts/crafts, and family time. She has 2 toddler boys who keep her very busy! Her fabulous pets include a beautiful husky named Akira, 2 cats that go by Dexter, and Simba, and 1 rabbit named Theodore.

Haley joined our team in 2023 and came to us with nine years of management experience. She attended Rock Valley College, where she earned her associate’s degree. Although her education is not centered around animals, she has always had a love and passion for them. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family/friends and going up north to the lake and beaches in Florida. Her favorite pastime is spoiling her Yorkipoo Lola! Haley is a big Chicago Cubs fan and was born and raised in the Rockford area.

Mika joined our team in March of 2024! She has prior experience working at doggy day cares, boarding facilities, and shelters. Attended some college at Fox Valley in Tinley for their Vet Tech program. She loves to lend a helping hand and will go above and beyond for a chance to learn and grow! Mika has loved all animals for as long as she can remember! She currently owns a bunny named Melody.

Cris joined our team in 2023 with a background in customer service and previous experience in a vet clinic. She is an avid animal lover who has a small “zoo” of animals of her own at home! In her spare time, Cris likes to spend time with her spouse, craft, play video games, and watch movies!

Ryley joined our team as a veterinary technician extern from Rockford Career College in 2022. She was a great fit and we asked her to join our team after graduation! Ryley is a Rockford native and enjoys shopping! She currently has a rabbit named Seda & dog named Chase but has enjoyed caring for raccoons, hamsters, ferrets & other small mammals over the years. She enjoys short road trips and particularly loves time spent in Chicago and Galena!

Shari is a Chicago girl from Blue Island, Illinois. She joins us as our new Hospital Manager and brings experience from Fortune 500 companies, Corporate training and running two of her own businesses. She was a registered Medical Assistant at one time and has crossed over to the veterinary field. She loves reading and boating and spending time with family and her pooch, Lacey. She lives in Poplar Grove with her husband and is quite social with her neighborhood. One of her favorite jobs was managing a used car garage and was also a Girl Scout Troop leader for many years! She used to sing in her church choir but now mostly sings in the car!

Karri joined our Client Care Team in 2021 and will be one of the first smiling faces that you see! She has several years of experience working with animals, including Winnebago Co Animal Control & the Hooved Animal Humane Society in Woodstock, where she cares for over 100 resident animals and maintains 60 acres of land. Any free time is spent with her horse, S’mores. She has plenty of others she enjoys spending time with, including two children. Copper, Opal & Princess are her 3 dogs, she has 2 cats named Buddy & Jewel, 2 Russian tortoises, Sludge & Charley, and a bunny named Igor. Her family loves going to the zoo, crafting, and exploring the trails with her dogs.

We’re excited to introduce Dr. Hannah Emerick, the newest veterinarian on our team! She is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois College of Vet Med. She is originally from Winnebago, IL, and returned to the Rockford area after graduation to be closer to family and friends. She also has degrees in Biology and Finance from Northern Illinois University. Dr. Emerick worked as a kennel attendant, vet receptionist, and vet assistant in Sycamore, IL before attending veterinary school, and she credits this experience for building her passion and skills in the field of veterinary medicine. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Emerick enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends; namely her partner, Kyle, and her two golden retrievers, Maddie and Cooper.

Brittany grew up in Illinois and also graduated from Rockford Career College in 2012 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She joined our team in 2015! She has 2 dogs: Yoshi & Princess; 3 cats: Rajah, Cookie & Blair; 2 leopard geckos: Calypso and Draco, 1 pacman frog named Jambayla, and one Russian tortoise named Bosco.She also volunteers for the Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education and loves ice cream!

Sharon joined our team in 2018 after teaching at Rockford Career College. She worked in customer service for years before deciding to go back to school and loves working directly with our clients. She graduated as a certified veterinary technician in 2015 from Rockford Career College, where she then became an RCC instructor. Her daughter is also a CVT! Sharon is loving the life as a new grandma, and loves country living with her husband, 3 dogs (Lucky, Hannah, and Sadie), 3 cats (Lunch or, Boo, and Baby), many chickens and a rooster named Chuck. She enjoys watching football and knitting dog sweaters on the side!

Katy graduated in 2018 from Rockford Career College as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She joined our team in 2024! Katy is passionate about educating clients on everything from preventable diseases to how to clean their furry friend’s ears properly and everything in between.

Assisting in surgeries and monitoring patients under anesthesia to ensure their safety are also parts of veterinary medicine she enjoys. While not at work, she spends her time crafting, traveling, going to concerts, playing board games, and spending time with her boyfriend and fur kids, including two dogs and two cats.

Ellie is our newest team member and joins us in hopes to learn while earning her Veterinary Technician degree. Ellie is from Rockford and has worked with animals for several years. Her favorite job was as a zookeeper at Wildwood Wildlife Park! Ellie has two cats & a dog at home, and she loves the outdoors!
